Biting Off More Than I Can Chew
kinda sounds a bit dirty…
I currently control 6 web spaces (counting my .mac space, which I really don’t, but I may start serving content from there if I run out of space with my current host), and I am thinking of adding another. All need a redesign. Only this site is far enough along that I can see the end.
I’m not sure which I am going to attack next. Probably my fervorflower site. I’m going to pair it down a bit, have it be a repository for the work that I am still happy with, rather than a catch all place like it was in the past. Some of my writing (some would argue most or all) really shouldn’t see the light of day, let alone be thrown up on some website. Yes, I know there is much worse crap out there, but this isn’t a good reason to have not-quite-so-crappy crap with my name on it.

Poetry Repost (Paramour)
this is not a poetry free zone!
Paramour
For him she dressed as a sexy Bo-Peep,
took him to bed, and let him be a bhaaa-ad sheep.
Because of him her bed will always smell of butter
and future lovers will ask, “You eat a lot of popcorn in here?
Then there’s those photos she’ll never live down.
She didn’t mind being the good witch, kind of dug Dorothy,
even liked playing the bad, but the flying monkey bit was too far,
and she said “No!” to the munchkins. Decency demands a line!
She took the ropes, and the candle wax, and even the whips.
She played the games and bought the outfits
and for him she found a partner when he said he wanted a threesome.
Unfortunately, it was his best friend Steven.
For him she learned to like pain, but not as much as he did.
And she never got the whole toe sucking business,
though she kind of found it pleasing and surprisingly arousing.
For him she bought a dildo (this brought her to four, but don’t tell).
She let him teach her orgasm, something she’d learned from Seventeen
(when she was twelve). She wore the boots and corsets and wondered
if all men were like this.
She hoped so!
Early on, she decided he was the one, decided she’d do anything
for this man. No other way to explain the whole pony costume.
And she forgave him when he proudly told their friends,
“I’m back in the saddle again!”
It was love.

Ugly Shirt II
this is going to get ugly…
I think I know my Roman numerals up to at least 50, so hopefully 50 weeks from now I’ll be ending this series of posts with Ugly Shirt LII. Anyway, again, I don’t remember where I got this shirt. It’s not truly hideous, but not all ugly shirts are created equal.
Like I said in my last shirt post, I have rules about what I will buy and wear. The obvious one is nothing new. I’m not paying good money for these monstrosities! Nope, I seldom pay more than $4 and I prefer paying less. Another rule is nothing with flowers on them. I consider these “cheater shirts.” It’s too easy easy to get ugly with flowers. Besides, I don’t want closets full of Hawaiian shirts. And it’s a bit hard to codify, but I also have a wrong-kind-of-ugly rule. Usually these are shirts that don’t violate any of my real rules, but that are just off because of color or design. I can admire these shirts, but just know I’d look like an idiot wearing them.
Ok, tune in next Saturday for another venture into my closet.

Comments and Cowards
every idiot has a blog, but what about those too stupid for even that?
Seems like you can have a perfect pool or bowl of Cheerios and someone’s always got to come along and piss in it. Last night I get an email notification that someone had left comments on this site in my galleries, so I logged in to see what was said. I was left wondering why this person even bothered. The comments weren’t going to get to stay up there. I removed them and set the requirements for commenting to members only. I figure only my friends are going to care about pictures of my friends anyway.
A lot of sites I respect don’t allow comments, since the vast majority of them are poorly written and usually asinine. On my first journal I stopped writing because of the comments that were left by one unknown person. My second I decided to not even bother with them. Usually they are too difficult to monitor and keep spam free to be worth it.
I’m not going to say what was said, other than I am pretty sure I know who left it, and if this person had even the smallest amount of courage the email address would have been valid. As it is, I do have the IP of the computer used to leave the comment, and it wouldn’t be that hard to track this person down, but I’m not going to bother. I just may join those other sites that don’t allow comments.

Site Musings
in which i attempt to say very little of substance

It seems like every time I figure something out it causes me to need to figure out four more things. I figured out how to set up my galleries, now I am trying to figure out how to use the uploaded pictures in journal posts. I would also like to get a random thumbnail to display on this page, but when clicked takes you to the gallery it’s from. And now I have a gallery to style as well.
Yuck!
I am so wanting this site to just be done so I can move onto one of my others. Right now I keep coming back to this one to make a quick change. It sometimes takes me a whole evening for this change. There’s too much tweaking to do (and not the good kind).
I’m pretty sure no matter how much I work on this site, it will never be “done,” but I would like to have it be further along. I was looking over my to do post, and realizing I haven’t been updating it as often as I should. I’d managed to knock several things off the list without paying much attention. But on the other side, I haven’t been adding in the stuff I need to.
Oh well, as long as progress is being made.
I’ve been playing with a crappy little flip camera, but strangely it seems able to do everything I want it to do. I may actually buy one. That’s just one more thing to add into figuring out.
