You know, pretty much like anyone with an online journal, I’ve got little to say, so focus on the minutia of life. I have to update the templates on the other pages here, but think I am ready to call this site good enough for now after today. That means I get to move onto working on my fiction/poetry site. I’ll work on that one behind the scenes until it is good enough to go live.

This site now has class tags to everything I have left to style, but since that can be done through CSS, I’m not worried about getting to that right away. There’s still a lot of tweaking to do yet, but I am close. I think I have most of the base functionality done for this site, but I will be adding more at a later date.

And drinking lots of coffee. Later today I will probably replace this post with a more substantial one, but just wanted something up there for now.

Nearly ready to move onto my other sites. There’s still a hell of a lot to do on this site (the list keeps growing), but for the most part I have the look and functionality I want. Once I get the main page tweaked out exactly like I want, I will start replication this throughout the site. Then it will be time to go work on my fiction and poetry site: fervorflower.com (NSFW). I have some cool plans for that site as well. Hopefully, I can get that one rolling a bit faster than this site. I think the redesign here has taken me about a month. I am going to budget that much time for the redesign of that site as well.

Of course no site is ever finished just abandoned (stole that quote from a short story writer), so I will be coming back here to put tweaks and polishes on this site.

Today is the day I wanted to be done with the changes here, but it is taking me a little longer than expected. Mostly because I keep coming up with more things I want to add or change. I keep forgetting stuff as well, like making the members’ page and search forms fall in like with the design of the rest of this site. Oh well, it’s coming along.

I control quite a few websites. More than can be counted on one hand, but less than could be counted on two. I have a hard time remembering them all. Sure, one’s only my .mac website, and all it has on it are links to my other sites, but it’s still webspace I control and can utilize. A bit back I got tired of one of my sites, decided to take down another for content reasons, and never got a third off the ground. I also signed over the reigns of yet another site (I no longer wanted to maintain or develop), dedicated to a social event, to a friend.

All this just goes towards explaining the redesign of this site. I missed having somewhere to journal. And I have great ideas for this site and all my others. I even have an idea for a new site (a semi-commercial venture). But it will be some time before I get to other sites. I want this one locked down and set up perfectly. It’s getting close, but there is still a lot to do (click the orb in the upper left corner for a list of changes to be made).
