Ugly Shirt V

paisley and proud!

me in a paisley shirtI cheated on Ugly Shirt day yesterday (today?). I posted the pictures by the time I was supposed to, but I am writing this on Sunday. I am going to write next week’s today as well, so I won’t have to scramble next time.

Some people will try to tell you there is nothing ugly about paisley. These people are wrong.

Last week was National Paisley Shirts at Work Week (if it wasn’t it should be! It’s not like I am asking for National Paisley Shirt Year). I was probably the only participant. I managed to make it all five days with a different shirt each day. One of the women I work with says I have too many paisley shirts. Firstly, I ask you, can a man have too many paisley shirts? I think this answer is obvious. Secondly, there is no secondly. Finally, I have five long sleeve ones and two short sleeve ones. Lastly, I’ve always got my eye out for more (see first item). Remember, I only buy used, and I refuse to pay more than $4 or $5.me in a paisley shirt

I can’t really remember where I got this shirt. Some thrift store or another, that’s for sure, but I think I want to start tracking where I get my shirts and how much I paid. [Update: I am told I got this for $2 at the Salvation Army in Ames. My girlfriend wanted to make a Wee Bunny out of it, but it fit, so I kept it.] I just love used shirts. I have a special sentiment held aside for ones that have the names of the previous owner in them. I know this was done by some anal retentive guy or a nearly psychotic overly concerned mother. There are few kids going to summer camp wearing a man’s XL. There is no rational reason for an adult to have his name in his clothes (unless you bought them used).

One of my favorites has two names in it with the first crossed off. I forget which shirt that is, but I for sure will post these guy’s names so they know their shirt is being taken care of.

These pictures were taken at Vogue Vision in Des Moines. I am wearing the glasses I am thinking of getting in these photos. They may look the same in both photos, but look closely. There’s a difference. I talked the guy behind the counter into taking these shots.

Ok, I’m done. See you next week.
